A good document to introduce you to the procedure of being an elected official is “So You Want to Run For Local Office” produced by the League of Oregon Cities. This short document gives a brief overview of what to expect as an elected official.

City Elections Procedures
Elected City officials serve four year terms, and the election for these positions are held in November of every other year. The next election for City officials will be November 6, 2018. There are two council member positions up for election.
All forms and instructions on filing for a City office are available:
- Electronically from the City website at www.cityofmillersburg.org,
- Picking up a packet from City Hall at 4222 NE Old Salem Road, or
- Emailing City Recorder at email@example.com.
PLEASE NOTE: You may not collect signatures for a petition until proper paperwork has been completed and approved by the City Recorder.
